Chris Palcsak, LISW

Therapist (he/him)

I am a licensed independent social worker with a rich and diverse background that shapes my approach to therapy. My practice is rooted in person-centered therapy with a strong foundation in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Guided by principles of social justice and trauma-informed care, I ensure that each client feels seen, heard, and supported in a safe and welcoming space. I bring kindness, curiosity, and unconditional support to our sessions, gently encouraging personal growth, and fostering a spirit of openness. My goal is to walk alongside my clients on their journey toward healing, self-discovery, and transformation.

Through collaborative exploration, I help individuals recognize their strengths, cultivate self-compassion, and embrace their potential for growth and transformation. My professional journey began in community mental health, where I supported the LGBTQ+ community, and people living with HIV. Since then, I’ve expanded my work to include adults and older teenagers from various backgrounds in private practice. I have experience addressing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and interpersonal struggles.

Beyond my work as a therapist, I bring the perspective of someone who has worn many hats. I have pursued careers as a chef, an aspiring Spanish teacher, and a geographer—experiences that enhance my ability to connect with individuals from all walks of life. My approach tends to resonate with those who sometimes feel out of step with the mainstream, such as geeks, artists, and other creative spirits. As a father of two incredible boys, I cherish creativity, exploration, and connection.

Outside of work, I am passionate about music, travel, and great food. These interests reflect my belief in finding joy and meaning in life’s everyday moments; a philosophy I aim to bring into my therapeutic work.
